I am indeed delighted that our distinguished friends and colleagues in the surgical field will be together once again in Thailand to reflect and exchange our views and experiences. On behalf of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand , I would like to cordially invite all of you to join the meeting.

It is a pleasure to support this Inaugural Conjoint Meeting between the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in July 2007 in Pattaya, Thailand.  Australia and New Zealand have a long association with Thailand both generally and in particular in surgery.

In 2007 the Thai nation will come together to celebrate His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary. On this most auspicious occasion, on behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am most pleased to welcome you all to join us in the first Joint Scientific Meeting of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand and the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons to be held in honour of His Majesty the King’s 80th Birthday Anniversary and in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand at the Ambassador City Jomtien Hotel, Pattaya, Thailand, during 27-30 July 2007.

The theme of the meeting, “Surgery in the Future” together with Trauma, Rural Surgery and Oncology, will emphasize the direction of surgery in the future to cope with everlasting problems in our patients with severe trauma and advanced stage cancer, especially in the rural areas with restricted or limited resources.

Speakers for this meeting will include not only distinguished speakers from the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and the Royal College of Surgeons of Thailand, but also distinguished speakers in various subspecialties from around the world. Current knowledge and expertise will be shared and presented in the form of symposium, plenary lectures, free-paper and poster presentations. Your scientific presentation with the submission of abstract are encouraged and most welcome.

The “RCST Family Night” in the evening of 29th July 2007 will ensure a joyful and unforgettable evening for all delegates attending this meeting. The sightseeing tour in Pattaya, day tour and complimentary tour will be arranged for accompanying persons and delegates to enjoy during the stay in Pattaya and Thailand.
